Sports Stars Lend Voices to Help Me Fine Families

In conjunction with Me Fine’s Annual Pledge Drive, some celebrities from the sports world have traded their uniforms for a microphone to give their support to the Foundation. Recently Chris Archer, Heather O’Reilly and Jay Harrison all recorded radio commercials to help Me Fine spread the word about the work it does in the community.  You can listen to each commercial by clicking on the photos below. Enjoy!

Major League Baseball star, Chris Archer  is no stranger to Me Fine. Raised in Clayton, Chris has his own Archway Foundation that has partnered with Me Fine recently. Ready to give back to the community he was raised in, Archer jumped at the opportunity to help Me Fine grow. Me Fine hopes to partner regularly with Chris and his Foundation in the future.

Heather O’Reilly  is a three time Olympic Gold Medalist for the US Women’s National Soccer Team. After leading the University of North Carolina Soccer team to two national titles and being named National Player of the Year in 2006, Heather signed her first professional contract. She’s currently a midfielder for the NWSL’s Boston Breakers. Having attended UNC, Heather already had a soft spot for the patients at UNC Children’s Hospital, and was eager to get behind the Me Fine mission.

No stranger to Me Fine himself, Carolina Hurricanes Defenseman Jay Harrison also felt compelled to help. Jay has attended the Me Fine Gala before, along with other events, and feels personally connected to the cause. As a father himself, Jay can especially relate to the journeys that Me Fine families take. Jay has been with the Hurricanes since 2009, after playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

We’re so honored to have these athletes lending their time and talents to our mission. They’re all great at their respective sports, but they’re even better individuals. Me Fine is better with these folks on our team.

Special thanks to Barry Woodard, Ron West, Brian Chacos, Brian Tatum, Mike Sundheim, Lori Rentsch, Jami Elizondo, Kay Riffle and Brian Maloney for helping to make this happen!
