Me Fine Foundation and Headbands of Hope Partner in Holiday Delivery to UNC Children’s Hospital

Raleigh, N.C. (December 17th, 2015)- A local non-profit and a local startup partnered to bring holiday cheer to some children in need. On December 8th, Me Fine Foundation and Headbands of Hope collaborated on a delivery of festive headbands and hats to children being treated at the UNC Children’s Hospital. Each organization’s mission is to serve children battling critical illness.

Headbands of Hope is a for-purpose company established in April 2012. For every headband sold, a headband is given to a child with cancer. Founded by a college student, Jessica Ekstrom, Headbands of Hope has donated headbands to every children’s hospital in the United States.

Me Fine Foundation offers financial assistance and emotional support programs to parents and caregivers who children are receiving long-term medical treatment from Duke and UNC Children’s Hospitals. The collaboration with Headbands of Hope was formed at HQ Raleigh, where each organization has a working space.

“What started out as a chance meeting at HQ Raleigh turned into a collaboration that put smiles on some special kid’s faces,” said Joey Powell, Executive Director of Me Fine Foundation.” Headbands of Hope involvement proves startups or businesses of any size can serve their community and make an impact, “ he added.
