The Second Hope Shop prides itself on offering a wide selection of new & gently-used clothing for men, women, children and infants; furniture; household items; seasonal decor; linens; jewelry; purses; shoes; stuffed animals; toys; and much much more.

We gladly accept cash, Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.
How does shopping at Second Hope help the families that Me Fine serves?
Our thrift store generates about 20% of Me Fine’s annual revenues. By shopping at Second Hope Shop, you are providing more funding for the critical emotional and social support programs offered at our hospitals (which you can read more about here), and for the organization’s Financial Assistance Program (learn more about here).
Also, by donating gently-used items, you are also helping Me Fine generate more funds to provide back to critically ill children and their families.
What kind of donations does Second Hope accept?
Please bring us your used clothing, household items, or furniture pieces. We have a market for most any item in good condition. Here are some examples:

- Appliances large and small (must be functional)
- Household items
- Home decor
- Baby items
- Automotive accessories
Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law. A receipt will be issued upon request or you may download it here. For larger donations, contact us at 919-202-0445 to schedule a drop off time.
We also make do monthly pick-ups around the Triangle! Call us to discuss coming to your location for larger donations.
We do not accept broken, damaged, or unsellable items. Below are specific items that the Second Hope Shop cannot accept the following items due to state or federal regulations and safety or environmental concerns:
- Rolling infant walkers
- Car seats
- Any item needing repair
- Newspapers or magazines
- Worn or stained furniture
- Ammunition and firearms
- Hazardous materials

Second Hope Shop is a drop off point for Friendship Used Clothing. Overstock clothing, shoes and textiles are bundled and shipped to needy families around the world through the Friendship program. Second Hope Shop also provides clothing and shoes to many local missionary groups.
Can I volunteer at Second Hope Shop?
Yes! We do have an incredible team of part-time staff who process donations, price items, stock shelves, and help customers. But, we know there’s always more that can be done, and volunteers serve a crucial role in helping us do more for our community.
