2nd Annual Southern Ladies Purse Gala

September 16, 2007: “An array of designer and one-of-a kind purses provided an elegant backdrop for the 2nd annual purse gala on September 16th, 2007. A free-standing purse boutique, as well as, the auctioning off of purses led by Bob Harris, the voice of the Duke Blue Devils, enabled Me Fine Foundation to almost double their fund raising goal for this event allowing us to continue to alleviate the financial hardships experienced by families whose children are being treated for life threatening illnesses at Duke or UNC’s Children’s Hospitals.

As chair of the event, I was moved by the enthusiasm of our guests and sponsors, as well as, the generous time and dedication shared by our outstanding steering committee. My involvement with this event allowed me to assist families similar to my own – ones who have been touched by life threatening illnesses and have made sacrifices in order to be by the bedside of their loved ones. Thank you to our supporters – your sensitivity, generosity, and passion has enabled families just like yours to remain focused on what is most important during these critical times – our children and loved ones. “
